Adjusting the Rear Shocks

Well I've dug myself out of the depths of the clothing thread and have come up with a question that has been at the back of my mind a while.

Has anyone played around with the 5 position adjustment for the rear shocks? Does it make any difference or should we just let them be until they need to be replaced with after market shocks?
